Instagram Campaign Project
Northern Arizona University
In VC202, I had to create an Instagram campaign, consisting of 3 posts with 10 images each, about whatever issue or topic I could educate others about. What I decided to do was educate others on the book bans in the U.S. that threaten intellectual freedom, education, and diversity.
To convey this issue, I used imagery of books and printing in my design, with a simple black-and-white palette and bright red accents to emphasize urgency. For typography, I chose the mono typeface NCNDVF for titles and subtitles, and Brown Pro for body text. NCNDVF’s typewriter-like, slightly bleeding look complemented the paper texture background. The black textured paper backgrounds in some images symbolize burnt pages without using actual burnt textures, making the design cleaner while highlighting key information. Lastly, I made sure the images used were black and transparent with a photocopy look (except for the portrait photos for better readability) to continue that printing aesthetic.
In the end, I am quite proud of how this project came out and makes me excited for other future social media projects.
